New Design for WWG Casual PC Gamer

Well, it took a couple of days, but I’m finally happy with the new layout. I’ve changed my approach a bit, by offering my own screen capture videos for the games that I don’t think get enough exposure… the ones you may not have heard about due to lack of today’s typical “hype”.

Miriel the Magical Merchant Video IntroThe first video captures the beginning of one of my all time favorite games, Miriel the Magical Merchant, available only through PlayFirst. Even so, I’m not sorry to have paid full price for this game (PlayFirst PlayPass members can get the game for $9.99!), there are so many cool aspects to it. I haven’t tried any of the recipies in real life yet, but I plan to. I’ll be gathering screen shots of them for the site … another project lol.

New Layout Feedback Wanted

I’ve tried to make navigating the site easier… you should be able to find the games you like best by selecting the game category from the bar under the logo. The search bar is also right there if you have something specific you’re looking for. The addition of the “Archives” page acts as a site map, all the pages on the site on one convenient page! Please feel free to comment below to let me know if it’s easy to find your way around. Feedback is always welcome.

New Games out This Week

This week, we got to see some pretty interesting games, and I’m having trouble deciding what to spend my GameClub credits on lol! There were three games for those of us addicted to Time Management and Simulation games:

  • Little Folk of Faery – This game is similar to “Virtual Villagers”. You manage the Faery population, and if you choose to – can leave them to grow and prosper even when you exit the game. I really enjoy this kind of Simulation/Strategy game, and am really excited to see it in the fantasy Fairy setting.
  • Fantastic Farm – Similar to other farm simulation time management games, this one is just different enough to make we want to play it for hours. The addition of “magic” into the action really does add a bit of excitement! Different modes of play make it possible to take your time and enjoy the magic of the game play, as well as the ability to pause the timed mode to move and/or rearrange everything on the screen. I found this a great twist, as many of the farm simulation games don’t let you do that.
  • Coconut Queen – If you’re anything like me, you enjoy a giggle now and then while you’re playing. Coconut Queen really delivers in the entertainment department! Similar to Build-A-Lot, this takes place on a tropical resort island. The cartoon characters remind me of Disney characters… especially the Island guy… looks and sounds like Tarzan, and he’s funny! The plot gives this one a little more of a time management feel to it, which makes game play a LOT more enjoyable and interesting that some of the other “build” simulations. Give this a try just for the giggle lol!

There were also a few interesting Hidden Object games introduced this week:

Whew… that’s a LOT for one week! :) I think it’s time I took a break to go play my new games… hmm… farm sim, or builder? I guess I’ll let you know next week! haha Enjoy some casual game time!
